Here in Kelowna, Justin Coles decided he wanted to build a mini ramp in his backyard. He started downloading blueprints and showed me. I was juiced on a mini ramp so I decided to design and engineer it myself.
I cut 3/4 inch plywood on a 7'6" radius at a height of 3'2". We set them up here to get a look at how we would like it.
It turned out we liked the radius and height so we started nailing them together.
"Not bad" - StevieE aka me.
I nailed them together to have a width 0f 12'.
Justin and Kim's dog, Dallas.
Kevin came over to give a hand and help drink some Corona's with us.
We were sick of building the mini ramp so we started drinking.
Justin hiding in the ramps.
Kevin was stunned Justin went missing.
Kevin found him and joined in the hiding.
Kim just excited.
Because I'm Superman.

Lisa, Kevin, and their future baby.
Over the next couple days, Justin and Paul screwed in the rest of the 2x6 and we got started on sheeting the first layer of 3/8" plywood.
Our buddy Tyson showed up with the steel 2" rails we needed for coping.
Me gettin all artsy fartsy with our new rails and Justin.
Tyson carrying our rails into the backyard.
Dallas started puking after watching us drink and work all day.
After I ripped the sheeting down to the right size, Justin got really excited and started running and trying to grind the ramp without coping.
Justin and I got this picture to celebrate finishing the first layer of sheeting.
Justin got all artsy fartsy with my new camera while I was working hard... without him.
After seeing Justin's picture taking skills, I decided to try to battle him with the work I was doing.... without him. I think Justin wins the artsy fartsy competition, but I win the great coping placement award.
We're taking a break with pizza and no beer. Everyone was upset so Justin went and grabbed another 24 Corona's.
We start screwing the 2 layers of plywood together.
Here you see, we have alot to screw in.
So the ramp is coming along very nicely. The plywood is screwed down and the decking on top of the ramp is nearly done. All that we have left to do is router all the edges, build a sub box on top of the deck, and finish everyting off with masonite. I'll continue to take pictures and keep everyone updated.
Just a reminder that we are going to have a contest on the ramp this Saturday( May 31st, 2008). Everyone that comes will have a place to stay and there will be free beer and food during the contest. Please call me at 250 868 1515 for any details or questions.
